CDA Resident’s Writing Award

The Canadian Dermatology Association established the Resident’s Writing Award to recognize dermatology residents who contribute and share their expertise and experiences within the dermatology community.

This award is presented annually to a resident member of the Canadian Dermatology Association who has contributed significantly to furthering the body of knowledge in the field of dermatology through written materials in CDA publications.

The purpose of this award is to encourage participation in the submission of quality and timely articles or papers to CDA publications which provides enrichment of the knowledge of dermatologists in this important medical specialty.

The judges will focus on the quality of the work and will look for excellent writing, originality, style and substantial science reporting when applicable, as well as value to colleagues across the country.

Competition for this award is open to any full-time resident enrolled in a dermatology program in Canada.

  1. The award is open to living Canadian Dermatology Association residents.
  2. Self-nominations are welcomed.
  3. Must submit completed entry form along with a copy of the written work, brief description of the entry and how it meets the criteria.
  4. The CDA shall be under no obligation to make the award annually.
  5. Collaborative efforts on a single article will be considered a single entry.
  6. The winner from the previous year is not eligible.  No author may receive more than three awards. Work produced by members of the judging panel is not eligible.
  7. Completed nomination form must be submitted electronically by the deadline date.
  8. Winning authors will receive a certificate. The certificate will be presented at the CDA Annual Conference.
