Faculty Clinical Teaching Award

(2 awards)

This is a national award that will be given annually to two Canadian dermatology faculty clinical teachers who have made outstanding contribution to resident teaching and have inspired and mentored residents in their programs.

Nomination Guidelines

  1. Any faculty member involved in full or part-time clinical teaching of dermatology residents in Canada is eligible to be nominated. Previous nominees who have not received the award can be nominated again, yet the award can only be conferred once.
  2. Only one clinical teaching faculty member may be nominated from each dermatology division. The faculty member need not be aware of their nomination.
  3. The faculty member should be nominated by the chief resident(s), who will solicit nominations from all the residents in the division and hold a closed-ballot election if more than one faculty member is nominated.
  4. Nomination should consist of a completed nomination form, including the reasons for the nomination. The justification may be written by any one or several of the residents within the division and should reflect the collective opinion of the residents in the program. It must provide sufficient and detailed information, as well as specific examples to convey the excellence and efforts of the nominee in clinical teaching and mentorship.
  5. Two awards shall be presented annually at the Awards Ceremony held during the CDA Annual Conference. Winners will be honoured with a recognition plaque.
  6. The selection committee is composed of members of the RFS Executive Committee.
