Temporary Reduction in Member Annual Fee Policy
Policy Statement
As a benefit of membership, members may apply for a reduced membership fee while on maternity leave, parental leave, or for an extended illness.
Scope
Any member in good standing who temporarily stops practice due to the birth/adoption of a child, or illness may apply for a reduced membership fee.
Out of Scope
Elective part-time practice is not eligible.
Procedure
- Members must make a written request for fee reduction, directly to the CDA (attention: Manager, Membership Services).
- Requests will be reviewed to confirm the status of the member is in good standing.
- If confirmed, the request is granted in professional good faith. No documentation is required to substantiate the leave or illness.
- The approved request will be effective for no longer than one-year.
- The fee will be calculated, and the change conducted by the CDA National Office with confirmation provided by email to the requesting member.
- For extended illness, members may re-apply for the reduced fee depending on personal circumstances.
