Public Education Awards
The CDA Public Education Awards are given for excellence in furthering the understanding of dermatologic issues and encouraging healthy behaviour in the medical, surgical, and cosmetic care of skin, hair and nails. Award recipients will be recognized on the CDA website, social media platforms, a press release and at the CDA annual conference.

Eligibility
- Entries must have been published or broadcast between January 1-December 31, 2023.
- If an entry comprised a series of articles or programs, the final installment of the article or program must have appeared by December 31, 2023.
- All entrants must be journalists or freelance writers/editors/producers working in either the print or broadcast media.
- Self-nomination is welcome.
- The CDA shall be under no obligation to make the award annually.
- Winners will be notified in early May. The award will be presented at the CDA Annual Conference.
- One (1) physical award will be presented to the winning entry.
- Nomination submissions must be received by the deadline date. Any submissions received beyond that date will not be considered.
Judging Criteria
Nominations will be evaluated by the Membership and Awards Committee taking into consideration the following criteria:
- Raises awareness of dermatologic issues among the general public or a targeted audience
- Helps to change public perceptions of, or attitudes toward, healthy behaviours as they relate to dermatologic issues
- Medical accuracy
- Creativity/originality
- Technical quality
The nomination submission must include:
- Copy of the entry (whether by hyperlink or attachment)
- Nominee contact information, if known
- Nominator contact information
- Short description of why the entry is being nominated, taking into consideration how the entry has furthered the understanding of dermatologic issues and/or the encouraged healthy behaviour in the care of skin, hair and nails. *no more than 200 words
Eligibility
- All entrants must be not-for-profit organizations or government agencies with original contributions, accomplishments, programs, projects and activities that raise awareness in the field of dermatology.
- All activities must have been completed by December 31, 2023.
- Self-nomination is welcome.
- The CDA shall be under no obligation to make the award annually.
- Winners will be notified in early May. The award will be presented at the CDA Annual Conference.
- Nomination submissions must be received by the deadline date. Any submissions received beyond that date will not be considered.

- Organization logo
- If additional organizations are submitting with you, include a copy of their organization logo as well. Please combine into one attachment for uploading.
- All relevant entry materials such as pamphlets, press releases, tear sheets, videos, etc. (a photo may be included of physical items i.e, UV bracelets, water bottles, stickers, etc.)
- Please combine into one attachment for uploading.

- All entrants must be industry organizations with original programs, projects or activities first implemented between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2023.
- An advertising or public relations agency may nominate a client’s program.
- Self-nomination is welcome.
- The CDA shall be under no obligation to make the award annually.
- Winners will be notified in early May. The award will be presented at the CDA Annual Conference.
- One (1) physical award will be presented to the winning entry. One (1) additional physical award may be presented to an advertising or public relations agency if included in the nomination.
- Nomination submissions must be received by the deadline date. Any submissions received beyond that date will not be considered.
