Resident’s Writing Award
The Resident’s Writing Award recognizes dermatology residents and the importance of their participation in furthering the body of knowledge in the field of dermatology through written materials in CDA publications.
Nomination Eligibility Requirements
- The award is open to full-time residents enrolled in a Canadian Dermatology program.
- Nominations can be submitted by peers, colleagues or trainees.
- Self-nomination is welcome.
- Written materials must have been published in the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery or JCMS Case Reports within the previous calendar year.
- Collaborative efforts on a single article will be considered a single entry. Multi-authored papers must identify the candidate being nominated for the award.
- The winner from the previous year is not eligible. No author may receive more than three awards.
- The CDA shall be under no obligation to make the award annually.
- Nominations will be evaluated by the Membership and Awards Committee, with a focus on:
- Quality of the work
- Excellence in writing
- Originality
- Style
- Substantial science reporting (when applicable)
- Value to colleagues across the country
- Nomination submissions must be received by the deadline date. Any submissions received beyond that date will not be considered.
- A certificate will be presented at the CDA Annual Conference.
The nomination submission must include:
- Details of publication in the JCMS/JCMS Case Reports
- Brief description of the entry and how it meets the criteria
- Copy of the written work
Nominations will be accepted until March 1, 2024.
