Member

A dermatologist who has received either certification in dermatology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; a diploma in dermatology from the American Board of Dermatology; or certification in dermatology accepted by the College of the province, territory or state in which they practice.

Dues: $425 plus applicable taxes
Renewed annually on January 1
Applications received on/after October 1 will have the dues payment applied to the upcoming year.

If you were previously a CDA member and left in 2019 or before, please use the application form to re-apply for membership.

If you were previously a CDA member and left in 2020-2024, please reach out to the office for renewal instructions, members@dermatology.ca.

Legacy Member

A Member in good standing who has attained the age of 70.  Members do not need to apply for this category; they will be notified of their eligibility automatically.

This membership encompasses all the benefits associated with Member.


Dues: 50% of current Member dues

Retired Associate

A dermatologist meeting the requirements of the Member who has fully retired from practice. Active Members who are retiring from practice should contact Member Services to have their membership category adjusted for the upcoming calendar year.

Please note:

  • A digital subscription to the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery is complimentary. Retired Associates interested in a print copy will be offered a heavily discounted rate and should reach out to Member Services.
  • Retired Associates are invited to participate in the Annual General Meeting, however they are not permitted to vote.

Associate

A person who can, in the determination of the board of directors, contribute helpful knowledge to the Corporation. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, they will have either full training in dermatology, dermatopathology, or pathology with extra training in dermatology from any country and be affiliated with an academic or medical program in Canada. Academic researchers with involvement or vested interest in a division or department will also be considered at the prerogative of the board of directors. The terms of an Associate Member shall be for a period of three (3) years and may be renewed upon re-application of that Associate Member.

Membership includes:

  • A complimentary digital and print subscription to the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery;
  • A complimentary subscription to the CDA eBulletin;
  • A reduced registration fee for the CDA Annual Conference, however attendance at the Annual General Meeting is precluded.

Dues: $295 plus applicable taxes

Application Form

Resident and Fellow Associate

Residents eligible for a Resident Associate membership are currently enrolled in a dermatology training program in Canada, or are a Canadian resident enrolled in a recognized dermatology training program in another country.

  • Residents in a Canadian dermatology training program are automatically enrolled, and no further action is necessary. Please reach out to Member Services with any questions.
  • Canadian residents in a foreign dermatology training program interested in joining CDA should reach out to Member Services for an application form and to discuss next steps.

Each Fellow Associate shall be certified in dermatology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the Collège des médecins du Québec and be enrolled in a fellowship program in Canada or in the United States, lasting at least one year, which involves intensive work in the field of dermatology.

This category includes international fellows doing an academic dermatology fellowship program in Canada and who are certified dermatologists in their home country. Fellow Associate status will be granted to those with written verification of current fellowship status and must be renewed on an annual basis.
