Hair is most often treated as an accessory and noted for its cosmetic appeal, however it also has some important functions. In terms of health, hair is meant to protect us in various ways.

The hair on our head and body provide some insulation against the cold and protection from the sun. Meanwhile, eyelashes and nose hairs are meant to trap and keep out harmful debris. Common concerns about hair, though, tend to be about its appearance with efforts being made to grow it, style it or remove it.
