Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award honours individuals who have made a significant and lasting impact in the field of dermatology through their professional accomplishments.
They will have earned the respect and admiration of their professional colleagues, served the profession of dermatology over an extended period and been known for their personal integrity.
Consideration will be given to the length of membership with CDA.
Eligibility
- Nominees must be current CDA members at the time of nomination.
- The award will be presented to an individual after a substantial career and may be given posthumously.
Nomination Process
Nominations
- Nominations can be submitted by peers, colleagues or trainees.
- Letters from a minimum of two Certified Dermatologists must be included as part of the nomination package; these can include the letter of nomination and/or the letter(s) of support.
- Self-nomination is ineligible.
- Unsuccessful nominees may be resubmitted in a subsequent year.
- Recipients of the award are not eligible for future nomination for the same award.
- The Membership and Awards Committee shall evaluate all nominations, taking into consideration the eligibility and focus of the award.
- Any nomination submissions received beyond the deadline date will not be considered.
Nomination Package
Nominations should be accompanied by:
- A letter detailing the reasons for nomination.
- Up to two letters of support.
- A current curriculum vitae of the nominee, up to a maximum of 20 pages.
- Up to two more letters of support from members of the community are also welcomed.
- Reference letters should be clear, succinct, intentional and no more than two pages in length.
- We recommend that the letters of nomination and support (#1 & #2 above) touch on the nominee’s professional accomplishments, and the length, type and variety of service that the nominee has given to the advancement of the specialty of dermatology. Show how the nominee earned the respect and admiration of their professional colleagues. What defining characteristic sets this nominee apart from other individuals who have made a significant and lasting impact to the specialty of dermatology.
- Any additional letters/collateral submitted in excess of the list included above will be removed from the submission prior to evaluation.
The Award
- The CDA shall be under no obligation to make the award annually.
- The award will be presented at an awards ceremony during the CDA Annual Conference.
- The award recipient will receive tickets for themselves and one (1) guest to attend the President’s Evening at the CDA Annual Conference.
Nominations will be accepted until March 2, 2025.
