Research Award in Dermatology


The Research Award in Dermatology recognizes excellence in research intended to expand, direct, define or assist in the understanding and/or treatment of dermatologic disease, and must be of a quality suitable for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

Nomination Eligibility Requirements
  • Submissions cannot have been previously published or accepted for publication at the time of submission.
  • The study must have been designed and carried out by (or under supervision of) the nominee.
  • Multi-authored papers must identify the candidate applying for the award.
  • Nominees must be members of the Canadian Dermatology Association, including any full-time residents enrolled in a Canadian Dermatology program.
  • Self-nomination is welcome.
  • No one may receive the award twice.
  • The CDA shall be under no obligation to make the award annually.
  • Nominations will be evaluated by the Membership and Awards Committee, with a focus on:
    • Originality of ideas
    • Clinical relevance or potential importance of the work
    • Experimental methods and use of controls
    • Evaluation of results
    • Clarity of presentation.
  • Nomination submissions must be received by the deadline date. Any submissions received beyond that date will not be considered.
The nomination submission must include:
  • Copy of the written work
  • A current curriculum vitae
Nominations will be accepted until March 1, 2024.
