Early Career Volunteer Award


The Early Career Volunteer Award is given in recognition of those residents, fellows and early-career dermatologists (within first 10 years of practice) who have achieved significant contributions at a local, provincial, national or international level through medical/dermatological volunteer activities.

The volunteer services may include: physician or public education, leadership, and administrative responsibilities. Consideration will also be given to involvement with patient groups, medical history societies, political action groups, and religious or charitable activities provided they have a medical or dermatological aspect. The volunteer activities should demonstrate a meaningful commitment of time, energy, and resources, as well as meaningful benefit to others.

Nomination Eligibility Requirements
  • The award is open to residents, fellows and early-career dermatologists (within first 10 years of practice).
  • Nominees must be members of the Canadian Dermatology Association.
  • Nominations can be submitted by peers, colleagues or trainees but must be supported by two dermatologists.
  • Self-nomination is ineligible.
  • Nominations will be evaluated by the Membership and Awards Committee taking into consideration the eligibility and focus of the award.
  • The CDA shall be under no obligation to make the award annually.
  • The award will be presented at the CDA Annual Conference.
  • Nomination submissions must be received by the deadline date. Any submissions received beyond that date will not be considered.
The nomination submission must include:
  • A current curriculum vitae
  • Letter of nomination
  • Up to two letters of support (maximum of two pages per letter)
Nominations will be accepted until March 1, 2024.
